Zach LaVine, the 23-year old swingman for the Chicago Bulls, has expressed interest in trading his services to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for DeJounte Murray. The Spurs have been looking to trade their starting point guard after a disappointing start to the season.
Zach LaVine has liked the idea of the Bulls trading for DeJounte Murray.
Zach LaVine is a professional basketball player.
Do you believe Zach LaVine is unaware that the Chicago Bulls need point guard help?
He does, and it seems that he supports the team’s decision to trade for San Antonio Spurs point player DeJounte Murray.
Zach LaVine is a fan of the Pro-Murray Trade Post.
DeJounte Murray in a Bulls jersey was photoshopped by All-Around Designs. Artras Karniovas Fan Club, a Bulls super fan (and quite the intriguing follow on Twitter), got a peek of LaVine’s Twitter profile page, which revealed the Bulls player liked the picture.
Nothing escapes the notice of this Karnisovas devotee.
Let’s take a step back and put everything into context. This does not imply that the Bulls are negotiating a deal to bring Murray to Chicago. This isn’t to say Murray isn’t content in San Antonio. Murray is in the second year of his four-year, $64 million deal.
Murray and Spurs guard Derrick White, according to Zach Harper of The Athletic, may both be traded for the appropriate price.
However, before anybody gets too excited, keep in mind that this is all just conjecture at this time, despite the fact that there is more going on here than a mere fantasy idea and an overzealous screen grab.
Zach LaVine and DeJounte Murray have a lot in common.
Murray and LaVine are both from Seattle, so they’re part of a close basketball community. The majority of them look up to former Bulls player Jamal Crawford, who continues to support and encourage local ballers.
Murray and LaVine are around the same age, but the Bulls’ star is a year older. Murray will be 25 in September, while LaVine will be 26 in March. As you can see in this Instagram photo from Murray’s account, the two Seattle natives even train out together.
On a different level, both LaVine and Murray tore their ACLs. Murray was injured in 2018 before of the NBA season, while LaVine was injured in 2017 while with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
With this tweet, LaVine gave Murray some words of support after learning of his injury.
@DejounteMurray, please pray for my dog @DejounteMurray. He put forth a lot of effort this season! My G, you were designed for this! It everything comes full circle.

It’s fair to assume that LaVine and Murray have a relationship and a bond that will only strengthen as teammates.
Is Murray a good fit for the Bulls’ point guard position?
Murray, more than any other player touted as a potential point guard replacement, might be precisely what the doctor ordered for the Bulls.
Murray is one of the greatest on-ball defenders in the league. Murray, at 6’4″, has the height and length to pose a threat to any guard in the league. His speed and long arms aid him in obstructing passing lanes, which is why he averages more than a theft each game.
With Murray, it’s not all about the thefts. He goes up into opponents’ chests and makes the game more difficult for scorers. The Bulls badly need a point guard with Murray’s presence.
He hasn’t developed into a consistent outside shooter, but he did hit 36% of his long-range shots in 2019-20 before regressing last season. His speed helps him get to the hoop or the free-throw line, as he made just under 48 percent of his mid-range to three-point line tries.
If a Murray deal becomes a real possibility, the Bulls should be ecstatic.
