With the executive director resigning, a local cancer survivor and volunteer will take his place. The new leader is expected to bring in more highly-focused staff and resources as well as turn around its declining fundraising efforts.

THE CENTRAL COAST OF THE UNITED STATES — Candice Sanders has been named Executive Director of the Cancer Support Community of California Central Coast (CSC-CCC). CSC-CCC is a non-profit organization that provides free social and emotional support to cancer patients and their families. They provide assistance to the whole family, regardless of cancer stage or recovery.
Sanders is an Ovarian Cancer survivor who formerly worked at CSC-CCC as the Development Director. She is thrilled to begin her new post as Executive Director of CSC-CCC, and she is happy to continue the organization’s excellent work in providing support services. CSC-CCC is a one-of-a-kind organization that provides weekly support groups, education, restorative fitness, hats and wigs, family programs, patient navigation, individual counseling, group apoyo, and more to all persons affected by cancer at no cost to them.
Sanders expresses her gratitude for being selected to head CSC-CCC. “During my struggle with cancer, Cancer Support Community was a light of hope for me, and I’m excited to carry on the torch of our purpose to ensuring that all individuals affected by cancer are empowered by information, strengthened by action, and supported by our community.”

“The social and emotional services provided by CSC-CCC are very important to our community. Patients and families we assist may gain hope and enhance their overall well-being by connecting with others who have been touched by cancer and getting help from our team of mental health specialists,” Sanders said.
CSC-office CCC’s is conveniently situated at 1051 Las Tablas Road in Templeton’s medical area. “Although all of our programs are delivered virtually via Zoom, we are still here, and our office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extra hours accessible by appointment.” With over 30 programs presented each month, we are here to support whether you or someone you love is afflicted by cancer,” Sanders said.
“We will continue to try to provide more assistance to individuals affected by cancer, and we are excited to extend our services and reach out to more people in our community, and I am honored to be a part of that growth.” CSC-CCC has a particular place in my heart, and I’m excited to give back to a place that helped me through a difficult period in my life,” Sanders says.
Private donations, endowments, and sponsorships are the only sources of funding for Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast.
