Cam Newton’s prediction that Bears QB Justin Fields will have a breakout year is finally coming true. Fields has been impressive in the preseason with his improved accuracy and arm strength, but he still needs to improve on his decision-making skills for the team to be successful.
Cam Newton’s Shocking Prediction About Bears QB Justin Fields Is Finally Coming True. Read more in detail here: nfl news.
It hasn’t been an easy road for first-round rookie quarterback Justin Fields, but he is now getting his chance to lead the Chicago Bears’ first-team offense.
Despite moving up for Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft, Matt Nagy and the Bears have exhibited a general aversion to handing the keys to the kingdom over to their rookie. Before selecting Fields, the Bears acquired veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to a one-year deal, and they’ve stuck with him as their starter so far.
However, with Dalton’s knee injury in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, it’s definitely Fields time in Chi-Town.

The majority of NFL fans have been salivating for Fields to take over as quarterback for the Bears. His first prolonged stint as the team’s starting quarterback, though, was rocky.
Former Ohio State quarterback threw for 60 yards and an interception on 6-of-13 passing. Fields fumbled as well, but he was able to retrieve it.
Fields’ first full season in the NFL wasn’t all terrible. On ten carries, he gained 31 yards with his legs, and the Bears eventually won the game. The Bengals aren’t the toughest of opponents, to be sure. However, a rookie stepping in midway through a game and leading his team to win is still remarkable. Fields could appear better after a full week of practice as the starter, according to the prevailing consensus.
While the Bears would want you to believe they were the first to see Fields’ top potential, the reality is that he’s been considered an NFL-caliber arm for quite some time. In fact, one NFL player in particular has been promoting Fields since his high school days.
Justin Fields’ tremendous success was anticipated by Cam Newton.
Cam Newton, who is now looking for a starting quarterback job, was a Justin Fields fan long before the rest of us.
Newton may be heard declaring Fields the “greatest player in high school football” during what looks to be a recruiting session for scholarship-seeking high school players. Fields, according to Newton, is the best player any recruiting team can pursue. It’s difficult to disagree with logic when Fields started games for Ohio State and went on to be a first-round selection.
During his two seasons at Ohio State, Fields piled up over 5,000 throwing yards and 63 passing touchdowns. Newton recognized promise in him as a high school student, and it didn’t take long for it to show.
Will the Bears make a long-term change at quarterback?
Coach Nagy has named Justin Fields as our starting quarterback against the Browns.
September 22, 2021 — Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears)
While Fields is expected to take over as the Bears’ starting in the near future, Nagy has said that Dalton will return to the position once he is well. While this is a typical reaction from a head coach when his starter goes down with an injury, one has to question how dedicated the Bears are to this reasoning.
Why would Chicago bench Fields in favor of Dalton later in the season if he is doing well? After all, Fields is supposed to be the franchise’s representative.
Fields’ capacity to perform or not perform is ultimately the deciding factor in such a choice. Fields, on the other hand, should be kept as the Bears’ starting quarterback if he seems to be capable of doing so.
