The Gardener, a classic story of an ex-soldier, a la Rambo, who wants to live in peace and accepts a job as a gardener, is giving us a Christmas to remember from Lionsgate. You know the old chestnut about the gardener being a great soldier who puts down his weed eater and takes out a gang of armed assassins? Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please What’s your favorite trailer line? “This could only have been done by one person… the gardener.” And what about that tagline? “You’re ass is grass,” says the narrator. Let’s get this party started! Bronzi, bring it on!

Some performers have found a niche and have begun to produce films that make you swear you’ve previously seen them. But alas, another daughter has to be rescued by a retired officer on vacation. Mr. Willis, I’m addressing you. To be fair, when he sparred with Maddie Hayes as the cheeky, dancing detective David Addison on Moonlighting, he made my list of The Forgivables, but I feel we’re ready for something new.
When we examine Robert Bronzi, however, we have an entirely different picture. He’s not Vanilla Icing us by claiming to have written ‘Under Pressure’ and calling it ‘Ice Ice Baby,’ he’s embracing his career as a tribute to a guy we’ve been missing in movies for decades. Our analogies to the great Charles Bronson have pleased him. To extend the homage, he’s even officially taken his moniker, Bronzi!
He has the qualifications demanded of actors during the Bronson period. This guy isn’t flexing his vanity muscles and scrolling through Instagram all day. This guy is a carpenter, a horse trainer, a musician, and a veteran of the war. He’s a stuntman, acrobat, and Judo specialist with a professional acting background (Maria Mezey Theatre School in Budapest). He is also multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Hungarian.
His résumé would have been quite at home on Bronson’s desk. From Hell to the Wild West, Once Upon a Time in Deadwood, Death Kiss, his most recent Escape From Death Block 13, Cry Havoc, and Wolf Soldiers are among his upcoming projects.
