Arkane Studios, developer of games like Dishonored and Prey, is actively investigating Deathloop, a PC game that was released in 2017. The game’s publisher has since been sued by the developers for not delivering on their promises.
Arkane Studios is actively investigating the release of Deathloop. The game was released on PC on March 28th, 2019.
Arkane Studios, the creator of Deathloop, is aware of the stuttering problems that PC gamers have been experiencing since the game’s release, and has made it a priority to investigate them.
Despite the fact that the critical consensus hails Deathloop as one of the year’s best games, the game presently has a Mixed rating on Steam, with just 64% favorable reviews. Many of the unfavorable reviews (including those from PC gamers who think the game is worth playing) blame the game’s stutters on the inclusion of Denuvo anti-tamper software.
“Hey all, I’m one of the DEATHLOOP Community Managers, and while those burgers do look great, we are aware of reports that some PC users are experiencing stuttering issues in DEATHLOOP,” Community Manager MortalEmperor replied to a Reddit thread jokingly pointing to the game’s detailed hamburgers as the source of the stuttering issues.
“We’re actively researching the problem right now as a top priority, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we get more precise information.”
Although it’s unclear if Denuvo is at blame, some PC users have had success decreasing or eliminating Deathloop’s stuttering problems by lowering their frame rate, which they can usually do via their visual card’s settings.
It’s possible that it’s a game engine problem, according to Reddit user num1d1um, since something similar has been reported to happen with other Arkane games like Dishonored 2. Hopefully, the developers will provide a patch as soon as possible.
Deathloop is currently available on PC and PlayStation 5.
